Scorpions, Sickles and Skyscrapers Now Available!  From the desert enclaves of the southwest to the bustling eastern cities and the vast open spaces in between, I have been furiously touring the country since my last record Time For Breakfast, collecting stories and absorbing the diverse sights and sounds on my adventures. The new album “Scorpions, Sickles and Skyscrapers” chronicles these travels through story and song. From Americana anthems like “Lavender Pit” to greasy funk grooves like “All Around Town”, the styles of the songs morph with the shifting dimensions of the road, taking the listener on a musical cross-country journey.
To help realize these songs, I have once again called upon the keepers of the Bisbee groove Sam and Daniele Panther (Green Machine, Buzz and the Soul Senders) and long time musical collaborator Stuart Oliver (Desert Angels, Dusty Buskers, Old Bisbee Records), adding to the mix kindred minstrel spirits Nowhere Man and a Whiskey Girl to create a band of insurmountable forces called THE BORDER CROSSERS. Ornamented with outstanding special guest performances and a 15 piece choir finale, Scorpions, Sickles and Skyscrapers has been filtered through the brilliant ears of Craig Schumacher and Chris Schultz at WAVELAB Studios in Tucson, AZ who never fail to bring ecstasy to the ears with rich earthy tones and masterful soundscapes.
