Multi-Instrumentalist
Instructor
Q: What do you get when you send a midwestern songwriter and Rock guitarist to study Jazz at a conservatory and then transplant him to an eccentric old mining town near the Mexican border to play Country?
A: Dylan Charles
Singing songs of traveling the west, ghosts, Mother Earth, a rose from New Mexico, love, rain prayers, trains and bridges to nowhere, Dylan is an accomplished songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. Influenced by artists such as Paul Simon, Tom Waits, and Jeff Tweedy, Dylan has shared the stage with 2010 Grammy nominated artist JOHN HAMMOND and his heart-felt melodies, conscious-raising lyrics and danceable grooves captivate audiences wherever he performs.
Inspired by music of all generations, Dylan blends an eclectic range of styles to create his refreshingly unique sound. Currently based in Bisbee, AZ, Dylan grew up performing in Ann Arbor, MI and graduated from the University of Cincinnati Conservatory of Music with a degree in jazz studies. He performs frequently with his and other projects throughout the Southwest.
